Sonia Zhou

Sonia is thrilled to return to the musical theatre stage after 11 years, in Free-Rain’s production of A Chorus Line. Born and raised in Melbourne, Sonia has long been immersed in the performing arts, with a particular love for singing. Her years with the Australian Girls Choir were especially formative, helping her build confidence, master harmonies, and maintain a smile for 90 minutes straight. During that time, she performed in the iconic Qantas I Still Call Australia Home commercial, the AFL Grand Final, and at the Bledisloe Cup.

These days, Sonia focuses her musical passion on contemporary soul and R&B music. While she’s not a dancer by trade, stepping into the role of Connie Wong has been a joyful chance to live out an unfulfilled dancer dream. She’s delighted to be part of this show — and only slightly concerned about the high kicks.
