Headshot for Lara Niven

Lara Niven

Lara started dancing at the age of 5 with Kim Harvey School of Dance and has been performing in Canberra theatre since she was 10. Her first show was Supa’s production of Oliver! in 2007. Since then Lara’s other theatre appearances include, Annie, Fiddler On The Roof, The Wizard of Oz, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Pirates of Penzance, Rock of Ages, Chicago, We Will Rock You, Cats and also as a ballet dancer in Canberra Opera’s Die Fledermaus in 2017. Lara’s most recent theatre appearance was as Mrs Potiphar and an Apache Dancer in Philo’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

When she is not on stage or at work, Lara can’t sit still and loves to go on adventures with her dog Sasha, ride her bike, go for a BBB session (a Boulder, a Burger and a Beer) and also does some work as a freelance artist.

A Chorus Line is one of Lara’s all time favourite musicals and she is so excited to cross it off her bucket list while getting to perform alongside such an awesome cast.
