Kara Murphy

Kara is making her Free-Rain Theatre Company debut as Juliet U/S and trio member in & Juliet, and she couldn’t be more excited!

Kara’s passion for singing and dancing began at just two years old, and she hasn’t looked back since. Her love for theatre began in high school, with her first role ever being in the ensemble of CATS (St Clare’s College, 2015), which led to her CAT award-winning performance as Belle in Beauty and the Beast (St Edmund’s College, 2020).

Kara has appeared in a range of roles, including as an ensemble member in Dogfight (Dramatic Productions, 2023), Electra (trio) in CATS (Canberra Philharmonic Society, 2023), Rusty in Footloose (Queanbeyan Players, 2023), Natalie in Next to Normal (Queanbeyan Players, 2024), and most recently as the Dance Captain/French Aristocrat in The Addams Family (Canberra Philharmonic Society, 2025) and ensemble member in 9 to 5 (Queanbeyan Players, 2025).
