Jessica Charles

Jessica began dancing at the age of 4 and has loved dance ever since. She completed RAD ballet exams up to Grade 8 and Advanced 2 (with distinction), and was awarded a scholarship to attend the San Diego Ballet Company pre-professional summer intensive (2024). She also has many years of experience in
other styles of dance including lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap and Broadway/musical theatre.

Jess has performed has played lead roles in many dance productions including the title roles of Cinderella (2018) and Snow White (2021) as well as Jack Skellington in A Nightmare before Christmas (2020) and Joy in Inside Out (2022). She has also danced the soloist role of Sugarplum (2024) and principal role of Clara (2025) in The Nutcracker.

Since 2023, Jess has been sharing her passion for dance through teaching and choreographing at Dare to Dance Canberra, OnBeat Dance Studios, Acclaim Dance and Cheer Co. and 6th Position. Prior to this, she was the Dance Captain and assistant choreographer for the St Clare’s College production of Legally Blonde (2022) and has been an assistant choreographer for a few smaller productions. She has also been an adjudicator for a university dance competition. 

A Chorus Line is Jess’s first musical theatre performance and she is so excited to be working alongside such a talented and supportive cast.
