Headshot for Finlay Forrest

Finlay Forrest

Fin has been training, teaching, and performing circus arts for over a decade, so he didn’t get here overnight.

Grade 4 Fin wanted to be a spy when he grew up, so naturally he started doing Karate and gymnastics classes. A spy has to be able to do cool flips after all! This didn’t last very long though, because he then did a holiday program with Warehouse Circus and realised that the flips and tricks were actually the only part of being a spy that he liked, and circus was his ticket to more of that!

Fast forward to highschool and Fin has joined the performance troupe, the pinnacle of existence in the eyes of a circus obsessed 13 year old. It was in this troupe that he performed his first stage show, and realised that people actually make this their lives and careers. Fin’s mind was made up, the thought of being an acrobat sounded like a dream come true.

So, a decade of training, many shows with Warehouse, building tents, performing, stage managing, and working on the site crew of several festivals (including Adelaide Fringe, Floriade, National Folk Festival, Enlighten, and Warehouse Circus’ very own Canberra Circus Festival), even co-founding his own circus company (Clockwork Circus) and Fin is finally a professional Acrobat.

In addition to circus, he also works as a puppeteer for Erth Visual and Physical, and recently performed as part of Erth’s The Nature Of Things.

Circus obsessed 13 year old Fin was right, it is a dream come true, and it has only just begun.
