Bruce Hardie
Bruce joined the theatre scene in Canberra in 2024 after moving from Melbourne where he had worked with more than a dozen different companies over the last decade, as well being the founding President of Pop Culture Theatre and on the board of the Victorian Drama League.
His first Canberra role was as Dwight/Gordon in Dead Man’s Cell Phone at Canberra REP, for which he was fortunate enough to win an Ovation, a CAT Award, and the Judi Crane award. He followed that up with Free-Rain’s August: Osage County in the role of Bill, and has most recently played Joe in When the Rain Stops Falling at Mockingbird Theatre. He has also been mucking around with ‘Logues and other developmental pieces and generally trying to get involved.
Other personal highlights roles include: Roo in Summer of the Seventeenth Doll and Leo/Maxine in Leading Ladies with Mordiallic Theatre, Ray in Blackbird at Warrandyte Theatre, Robert in Boeing Boeing at The Basin Theatre, Greg in Sylvia, and Michael in God of Carnage at Peridot Theatre, and his recent Canberra debut as Gordon/Dwight in Dead Man’s Cell Phone at Canberra REP.
The move to Canberra seems to be going alright.
