Ashleigh Nguyen
Ashleigh’s passion for performing was first ignited when she began all-star cheerleading at the age of five. Over seven years, she trained in tumbling, stunting, and dance, becoming a three-time national champion.
Having participated in a few commercial projects such as a student in Every Child Counts (Catholic Schools Education 2013) and as a model for the Cheer Chick Charlie books (2016), her love of stage performance grew when she joined the Daramalan Theatre Company. She appeared as Tinkerbell in The Treasure of Peter Pan (2019), Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2021), and as the dance captain/featured ensemble in Shrek the Musical Jnr (2022).
Ash also took part in the Daramalan Dance Company where most notably she performed the lead character in ‘I Got Rhythm’, winning a national story award at the Wakakirri Dance Competition. In 2022-2023 she was also seen performing originally written and choreographed pieces at Come Alive Festival at the National Gallery of Australia named ‘Anna May Wong’ and ‘Determinism’.
Ash’s roles have extended beyond performance as she has gone on to uphold leadership roles such as assistant director/choreographer of DTC’s ‘Gift of Story’.
Most recently, she performed as a Jet Girl in West Side Story (Dramatic Productions 2023), ensemble in Bring it On! (Canberra Philharmonic Society 2024), and an extra in Austin (ABC, 2025).
She is currently a student at the Australian National University and completes vocal training under guidance of Sarah Darnley-Stuart. When not performing onstage, you’ll find Ash out playing State League Netball or crocheting the day away!
