Samuel Hutchinson

Samuel is a passionate trumpet player living and working in the Canberra region. He takes immense pride and joy contributing to the diverse music scene: from big bands, to orchestra pits, and chamber music.

While working on his PhD, Samuel has honed his skills in both classical and commercial playing styles showcasing his talent in various orchestras and theatrical productions. Notably, he has been an integral part of orchestras in Canberra productions of Sweet Charity, Billy Elliot, The Boy from Oz, West Side Story, Cats, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert – The Musical.

In 2024, Samuel had the honour of participating in the Canberra Symphony Kingsland Fellowship program. Following the fellowship he attained a successful audition with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

Samuel has been a trumpet teacher in Canberra since 2017. He currently holds the brass tutor position at Burgmann Anglican School.
